"As a young lad I had an aviary full of budgies, I suppose they were really only scrubbers. When my boys were small I thought it would be good for them to be involved in a hobby, so I joined PRBS and somehow became involved with the committee. The boys looked forward to tableshow nights to share some of the yarns with the older blokes, particularly Bill, Ronnie and Cliffy, and try to win the tableshow trophy. Anyway as time has past the boys and I have moved on from the budgies, but I still have a keen interest in what goes on at PRBS and am always willing to help out wherever I can."

"Pine Rivers Budgerigar Society invited me to judge and give a lecture in 1999 and the hospitality given on that occassion was unbelievable, the next invite came in 2010 to judge and the same could be said about the hospitality.
It was great to see some of the 'originals' still involved and even more pleasing to see the number of young fanciers or newish fanciers that were involved in 2010. An excellent cross section. It appears that the 'originals' are nurturing the new group along and that is excellent.
The birds in 1999 were very strong for their time and the 2010 versions were top bracket budgerigars as well.
A couple that I sighted were world class for both era's.
It is great to see that the Society is now promoting the hobby through this, their new website.
